unexpected words of wisdom

I was thumbing through a glossy magazine recently and saw this quote in a carpet advertisement, of all places. Evangeline Lilly, whom you may know as "Freckles" on Lost, told herself as a kid that "If I'm going to be important one day, I have to start being important now."

This really resonated with me. Sounds like Freckles has an advanced case of ARTitude! It's so important for us to honor that special thing inside us that moves us to create art, making time and space for that impulse to play and grow and develop.

Start now, to treat your artmaking process with respect. Dedicate a space, however modest, to creativity. Make an appointment to make art and show up ready to dance with your Muse. This positive mindset is an important step in manifesting your dream. Why wait?
